Rick Warren: “Marxism in Christian Clothing” PDF Print Email

Saturday, 01 August 2009

Personal salvation is not the primary focus for liberal churches

According to Rick Warren, the “social gospel” supported by many of the mainline churches is “Marxism in Christian clothing.”

Here’s how he explains their focus:

“We don’t need to care about redemption, the cross, repentance. All we need to do is redeem the social structures of society and if we make those social structures better the world will become a better place.’ …It was in vogue at that time [to think] that if we redeem society then man will automatically get better. It didn’t deal with the heart.”

Oprah "Religious" Obama Revival PDF Print Email

Monday, 21 July 2008

Over 80,000 people came to hear Oprah Winfrey endorse Barack Obama in Iowa last week.

It was like a religious revival at the Iowa, South Carolina and New Hampshire rallies. It was a sort of "Good Housekeeping" seal of approval.

My wife and I watched as Oprah sounded like a preacher during her first-ever presidential endorsement.

She made it clear that she strongly backs the Illinois Democrat, calling him a "politician who has an ear for eloquence and a tongue dipped in the unvarnished truth."

She also said, "There are those who say that Barack Obama should wait his turn. But none of us is God. We don't know what the future holds, so we must respond to the pressures and the fortunes of history when the moment strikes."

She also said that he is a man who loves mercy and would do justly. While her talk used Biblical references, remember, she is not a Christian.

Letters from Our Readers—On Only Voting for "The Candidate Who Can Win"

"I voted for Arnold because I thought he could win (in our liberal state) even though I knew McClintock was the conservative.

"Similarly, I voted for Bush in 2004 even though I had to hold my nose over No Child Left Behind (a Kennedy-sponsored bill) and his support of McCain- Feingold.

"Like President Bush, Governor Schwarzenegger is interested in pleasing voting blocks rather than standing for principle.

"Bush gives conservatives gifts such as tax relief and steadfastness on the war effort...then he gives gifts to liberals: government meddling in education (no Child Left Behind), Medicare Expansion, McCain- Feingold.

"Bush gives up easily on important issues like Social Security Reform, but holds steadfast on NOT building a border fence (No Illegal Immigrant Left Behind).

"Arnold is the same way except he's even worse than President Bush. Arnold really hasn't bestowed any conservative 'gifts,' only window dressing for his failed, half-hearted reform attempts in 2005.

"Conversely, Governor Schwarzenegger has legions of liberal gifts... bond spending, universal health care, global warming, etc.

"They say the Republican party is a 'big tent' party. I'm still technically registered as a Republican, but no longer identify myself as such with President Bush and Governor Schwarzenegger, prominent Republicans.

"I think the tent has grown too large and the Republican party philosophies of limited government have become meaningless.

"From now on, I'm voting for the principled candidate no matter if the polls say they can't win. In retrospect, my votes cast for the candidate-who-can-win has made me the loser."

Congressional District—Shameful Conduct PDF Print Email

Friday, 19 October 2007

Congresswoman Linda Chavez is one of the most antifamily, big government, high-taxing representatives in Washington.

Now, I can add, she is one of the most wrongfully slanderous House members as well.

As Chairperson of the House Judiciary Subcommittee, she slandered Paul McNulty, Deputy Attorney General and basically accused him of lying with no proof or evidence.

Mr. McNulty is a man of high integrity, ethics and honesty.

This shameful conduct is just another reason we should have a quality candidate run against her.

Myth: You can't vote for the best candidate, only the candidate who can win PDF Print Email

That's what happened as many Californians voted for Arnold Schwarzenegger over Tom McClintock in the Gubernatorial recall election.

Now look...except for a few issues, Schwarzenegger has pursued policies almost as bad as Gray Davis, such as growing the budget deficit, growing government bureaucracy and growing government control over our lives.

His social and economic policies have been like the liberal Democrats, even appointing judicial activists to the courts. And he wants to increase taxes (he calls them fees) and sign dangerous anti-family legislation.

Except for a few vetoes, he has been more harmful than good.

Now, I have seen Christians say they would vote for Rudy Giuliani, who is antigun, antimarriage and pro-abortion. As the 2008 Presidential election approaches, shouldn't we vote for someone who has been:

  • Consistent
  • Supporting family values
  • Cutting the size of government and slashing taxes
  • Encouraging economic growth with less regulation
  • Protecting us against the #1 threat we have—Islamic terrorism

A Reader's View on Christian Voters... PDF Print Email

Dear Craig,

"I agree that Christian turnout for elections is appalling and consequently we deserve the govenment we get. We have no right to complain if we don't participate.

"I think many pastors keep quiet for fear of loss of tax status if they appear partial. There are ways around that, I think, but they can certianly urge their congregants to get informed and vote.

"Too many churches now are deader than doornails. They have lost their 'First love' as the Messiah tells us. That's a big part of the problem, too."

Congressman Ron Paul—Where He Stands PDF Print Email

Monday, 17 September 2007

In the last Republican debate, many were horrified at Congressman Ron Paul's position that U.S. involvement in the Middle East in the last 40 years has given Middle Eastern governments grounds for resentment and that it was the cause of 9/11 (which he didn't say, but the liberal media and Rudy Giuliani claimed he said that).

Click the play button below for an interesting video made of him after the debate.

James Dobson on Giuliani and McCain PDF Print Email

James Dobson's latest announcement about Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani was regarding Giuliani's support of abortion (including government funding and partial-birth abortion). Dobson doesn't trust that Giuliani would appoint family friendly judges.

He said Giuliani also is antigun ownership and against traditional marriage.

Dobson says he also opposes John McCain and would refuse to vote for either Giuliani or McCain in a presidential election.

Note to Hillary: Gas Profit Tax Will Hurt Families PDF Print Email

In response to ExxonMobil’s record profits, Senator Hillary Clinton said she wanted to “take those profits and...put them in an alternative energy fund.”

Statements like that are:

  • Antifamily: Since slowing economic growth will hurt families.
  • Economic illiteracy: Since the facts don't connect with her statement.
  • Here are the facts from a profamily, progrowth, economic viewpoint:

    1. Taking successful companies’ profits is exactly what socialist governments do. It’s what Hugo Chavez is doing in Venezuela. And it’s why socialist countries fail economically, put their citizens into poverty, show slow or no economic growth and lack innovation.
    2. ExxonMobil paid $10.7 billion in taxes vs. $39.5 billion in profits. Over the past 25 years, federal and state governments took $397 billion from the largest oil companies. Plus $1.1 trillion in taxes from you and me at the pump.

This is because there is a 35% corporate tax.
    3. ExxonMobil had sales of $377.5 billion and a profit of $39.5 billion. That's a little over 10 cents on the dollar. This is well below the margins of ...Get the full story. Sign up for a FREE all-access membership by clicking here.

"There is a word for people who put children in a car to be blown up. The word is evil...It's important that we say this out loud and that we render this moral judgment. Because if we fail to understand that our enemy is evil, we have failed to understand what we are fighting."
