Last issue, I mentioned the budget deficit for California would be about $10 billion. Wrong. The governor's office now says it will be over $14 billion and growing.
We need to cut waste, bureaucracy and spending now!
To add insult to injury, our liberal state senators and assemblymen are getting a pay raise—despite their poor performance.
- 1995 Legislator Salary: $75,600
- 2007-2008 Legislator Salary: $116,208
This does not count their outrageous diems, state cars and large staffs.
While the state goes broke, the highest-paid legislators in the U.S. get a pay rise. What's wrong with this picture? |

Sad to say the liberal state legislature and Governor Schwarzenegger are on a wild spending spree that will hurt us all.
Over the past 3 years general fund revenue has grown 23%, spending has grown 30%.
The state budget deficit is projected to be $10.6 billion, compared to Gray Davis' outrageous $6.6 billion. |

Politicians always feel they can spend your money better than you can. And they always have a fiscal crisis needing more money—especially for police and needed infrastructure.
But so much of the waste is outrageous. Here is Los Angeles newest fiscal abomination: $4,500 was paid recently to a feng shui “advisor” for the new $7.4 million enclosure for the monkeys at the L.A. Zoo.
The feng shui advisors helped create a “chi” for placement of a door, added a fountain to soften the harsh energy and other Eastern “spiritual” concepts.
