Christian agencies struggle to make a decision

The Equality Act covers England, Wales and Scotland. It bans discrimination against homosexuals in terms of access to goods and services…including adoption agencies.

The law makes no allowance for religious organizations to object on doctrinal grounds, effectively forcing many adoption centers to choose either to go against their deeply held beliefs or to be shut down by the government for noncompliance with the Equality Act.

The law went into effect in April 2007, but gives religious organizations 21 months to adjust.

So far, one Roman Catholic agency has been forced to close by failing to comply with the law, two are fighting for more time and three are deciding what to do.

However, five have agreed to place adoptions with homosexual couples.

What do you think? Should these five have given in? Email me at This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .

There are two choices…

Every church must either accept homosexuality or accept God’s word on homosexuality.

Here is an interesting video clip with J.I. Packer I thought you’d find interesting.

Reflection

“I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places.”

—Ephesians 1:16-20
