Legislating radical views from the bench

Judge Ned W. Mangum stripped Venessa Mills of the right to homeschool, and ordered her three children to enter public school.

Mills was forced to defend her right to homeschool during divorce proceedings. Evidence showed two children tested several grades ahead.

The liberal activist judge is imposing his views on a successful homeschool situation.

Pray for the family and for the protection of homeschooling.

Is this true? Not the parents? Not the church? Not the teachers?

At the National Pastors Conference I attended last month, one of the speakers explained that it was kids’ friends that have the greatest impact on their worldview—politics, morals and ethics.

That’s why so many kids from Christian families find themselves at odds with their Christian upbringing. Their parents have not grounded them in the faith, the Word and apologetics. And tragically, neither had the church.

What is your church youth program like? Is it only a social gathering? Is it filled with emergent church/liberal theology? Is it milk?

And your kids’ or grandkids’ friends…where are they? What type of influence are they bringing on your kids?

Two questions I’d like your input on to share with readers:

  1. What is your church doing to train the kids in the faith and provide a spirit-filled, Christ-centered vision for fellowship? Are they being prepared for the assault on their faith at school and in college? Are they learning apologetics? Are they learning about sex, homosexuality, abortion and other issues they all face? Are they being taught how to confront or witness in love and truth?
  2. And what are you doing to help your kids?

Liberals Downplay Dads: More Proof on the Importance of Fathers PDF Print Email

When I taught the singles group at my church, the reality of the struggles of single mothers and their kids became obvious.

As I studied research reports and books about single families it was clear many of the boys and girls had behavior and psychological problems impacting school, relations and jobs.

God's design is for a mother and father.

While not always possible, this produces healthy kids.

Fathers complement mothers in a way mothers alone—or fathers alone—never could.

According to a research review publicized in Acta Paediatricia, researchers looked at 24 papers published between 1987–2007, fathers were a significant positive influence.

For a great review of the impact of why children need both a father's love and a mother's love, click here.

The Huntington Beach Union High School District has agreed to limit showing of R-rated movies in classrooms, thanks to the parents of a 15-year-old girl who objected to their child watching R-rated movies without their knowledge or consent.

The initial complaints were ignored. The Pacific Justice Institute got involved and the school board voted 4-0 to prohibit R-rated films completely.
